The Enterprise Fund was established 35 years ago by the International Fund for Ireland. It is a Registered Charity – No 20023102. The purpose then was to provide loan funding to entrepreneurs and small businesses that had difficulty securing finance from the established lending institutions. Its mission now is as it was then and support is available for most business sectors to help finance start-ups and business expansion. In the intervening years, the Fund has supported 100’s of such projects and generated employment in both the manufacturing and service sectors. Its activities are confined to County Louth, only. Similar enterprise funds exist in counties Monaghan, Cavan, Leitrim, Sligo and Donegal.
Ronan joined the Enterprise Fund in 2014. Prior to that, he was Chief Executive of Louth County Enterprise Board and previously worked in the private sector, employed at senior management level in various US multinational technology companies based in Ireland. He also ran his own small business on two separate occasions.
Ronan has a BSc in Physics, a BA in Music, a Masters in Engineering and Diplomas in Business Counselling and Executive Coaching from Durham University and Henley Business School, respectively. His hobbies are jazz, trekking and golf.
